Treasured Friend Tag – Wacky Wednesday #17

Treasured Friend crop

Well, it’s time again for another Wacky Wednesday challenge!  This time it’s Shelly’s turn to host and I was so excited that she chose for us to use a tag on our project!  I’ve been wanting to play around again with Sherry’sinky thing” and this was the perfect opportunity!

You can get all the details to the challenge on the Rubbernecker Blog.

On my card today, I’ve used a new stamp from a set (Flower Silhouettes – 468) that will be released tomorrow as a part of another Red Hot Mommas’ Blog Stroll!  These strolls are just the most fun, and you get to see some gorgeous examples of art from our talented design team!

As I said, I used Sherry’s  “inky thing” technique, but I added some Perfect Pearls to my water mister.  I know you can’t see it in the photo, but the tag really glimmers IRL!  My card is 5 x 5 and I cut the tag to a length of 4”.  I also outlined the flower, that was stamped in Ranger broken china ink, with a white gel pen to make it pop a little.  The flourishes around the edges are from the Flourish Set Large (463), which was recently released.  I sponged all the edges with Ranger walnut stain ink using my ink blending tool.

I also wanted to let you know how I added the jumbo eyelets to my card front without them showing through on the inside of the card.  I’m a little picky about that!!  I taped small squares of cardstock the same color as the card base (Island Mist Dark) to the 2 triangle pieces of cardstock before punching the holes with my Cropadile.  Here’s a visual:

Don’t forget!!!  Come back tomorrow for the Red Hot Mommas’ Blog Stroll!  You won’t be sorry!!
