Wedding Cake, Stitching, New Stamps & Wacky Wednesday

Wedding Cake crop

What a long title, huh?  Well, this post will incorporate all of those elements, so let’s get started!

First of all, I’m excited to say that we have some more new Rubbernecker stamps for you this week!  I’m using one of the sets today, and you’ll see more tomorrow when we have another Blog Stroll!

Our Wacky Wednesday challenge from Sherry this week is to use stitching (hand, machine, or faux) on our projects.  Since I needed a wedding card this week, I knew this was the perfect opportunity to pull out the ivory shiny tulle that I’ve been saving and do a little stitching.

The perfect set for this card just happens to be one of the new releases for tomorrow: Party Time.

Wedding Cake close up

I wanted to show you a close up first, so you can see all the detail.  For the main layer, I stamped the wedding cake using Heat & Stick powder, dusted on some Perfect Pearls, then added pearl stickers to each cake layer.  On the second layer I stamped the French Script background in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The next layer is the one I stitched the tulle onto.  It was folded around to the back of the layer and lightly taped, then stitched on my sewing machine.  The last addition was the beautiful May Arts ribbon.

Here’s the full view of the card:

I was going for simple, yet elegant.  Did I make it?  I hope that the newlywed couple will like it.

Thanks so much for stopping by again.  Head over to the Rubbernecker blog for all the details on the challenge and to get the links to the other designer’s blogs to see their fantastic creations!

Don’t forget to be back here bright and early tomorrow morning for yet another Red Hot Momma Blog Stroll!!  See ya then!
