Cuppa Riley

I had to go in search of my Riley stamps in order to make this card.

All of my SU sets are in the clamshell boxes in a glassfront bookcase.  Most of my unmounted sets are on my Clip-It-Up, but all of my wood mounted stamps are in plastic containers stacked up behind my desk.  That means unless they come to mind when I’m getting ready to make a card, they remain pretty much forgotten.

I had heard the sad news of Kristi Ferro’s (of Hanna Stamps) father’s death this week, which reminded me how much I love the Riley stamps and how I had just neglected the poor little guys.

So I pulled them out and since this guy (Coffee Riley) is my absolute favorite, I decided to make a card with him. (I have been eyeing the cute little Sleepytime Riley lately though…love those bunny slippers!)

I used the CPS90 sketch, stamped the card base with CHF’s Polka Dot backgrounder, then ran it through the Cuttlebug using the D’vine Swirls folder.  The rest of the papers except for the white image layer are from the Basic Grey 6×6 pad Two Scoops.

The image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (wonderful for using with Copics!) then colored using Copic markers and cut with a Labels 2 Nestabilities die.  Leaving the die on, I lightly airbrushed the background with my Y21 Copic marker.

Thanks for visiting today.  If you’re a praying person, please keep Kristi and her family in mind.

The swirl was cut using a Sizzix Sizzlits die (Scribbles Swirls) from a piece of the Basic Grey paper, then topped with a flower and a button tied with linen thread.

Thanks for visiting today.  If you’re a praying person, please keep Kristi and her family in mind.
