Get comfy in strange colors…

Get Comfy Slippers crop

I don’t think Tammy will be upset with me for saying that! She chose the colors for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge. She had great inspiration…the color of her local Panera restaurant. I love the decor at mine as well, but it was a strange combination to work with to come up with a card!

The color banner even looks cool! But I really did struggle with this one! I finally figured out that less image and more background would work best, so I chose the small pair of slippers from Lockhart Stamp Company and a coordinating sentiment.

The card is 5 inches square and I used my favorite of the colors, Ruby Red, to be the dominant one, using it as the main background to the image layers. I had great luck finding a flower and button that would match, but found that I had no ribbon (and I have a lot!) that would complement the card or colors. Soooo, of course I pulled out my Copic markers and white taffeta ribbon and created one! I think it works really well! What do you think?

Please visit the Color Throwdown blog to see all the designers’ cards and to link to their blogs for all the details. I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with this strange combination! (Sorry, Tammy!!)

Have a great day, y’all! And come back to see me soon!
