Holly Jolly Christmas – Color Throwdown 19

Holly Jolly crop

It’s time for another Color Throwdown challenge. I have the best time making a card when someone else provides the starting point! Here are this week’s colors as chosen by the fabulous LeAnne Pugliese.

CTD19

I have to admit I was in a panic about how to use these colors. They reminded me so much of my decorating scheme from many, many years ago – all country, with quilts and antiques everywhere! That’s definitely not my style now, but the memories led me to create a somewhat old-fashioned flavored card, using this $1 stamp from Studio G that I had purchased at Michael’s.

Holly Jolly CTD

The stocking was stamped and painted on watercolor paper, and it’s popped up on foam mounting tape. After I cut the striped DP with a Labels One Nestabilities die, I trimmed the upper edge and sponged the rest of the edges. The bordering blue snowflake was cut with a Spellbinders Snowflake Wonder die, coated with glue, then diamond dust. So you know I have that stuff everywhere now!! I tied the ribbon through the center hole of the snowflake and dry embossed the bottom edge of the card using one of the Cuttlebug Just My Type border folders.

I hope you like my card and that you’ll stop by to visit the Color Throwdown blog, which will link you to all the other design team members’ blogs.

You can play too, you know! Just upload your card and leave us a direct link to it in today’s blog post here. We’d all love to see your creations!

Thanks for visiting! Come back soon!
