Color Throwdown – week 14

Halloween Poem crop

Wow! What beautiful vibrant colors Tammy chose for us to work with this week!

CTD14

Aren’t they great?? And I want to give a big shout out to Kisa Peters who is the talented lady that creates our color blinkies and banners each week.

I was really playing around with my Copic markers on this image BEFORE I went to the Copic certification class, so please don’t judge the coloring too harshly!! After it was all colored and allowed to dry, I moistened an old rag with some colorless blending solution and dabbed it on the pumpkin and even more so on the background. It was supposed to give more of a textured instead of flat look to the coloring. This is a little hard to see, since it’s behind an acetate sheet!!

When I returned from the class (before the card was assembled) I tried something Marianne showed us. I used the brush end of my blender marker to create the stars on the blue background. Then I filled them in with a clear Spica pen to make them shine. A pretty cool trick!
