My card today uses a little of the wealth of knowledge I gained from my Copic markers class with Marianne Walker. You know how we’ve always used the marker-to-rubber technique to color our stamps before huffing, then stamping? Well, this is a similar technique using your Copic markers.

Shabby Flowers

I colored my Red Flowers stamp with BG72 and YG97 markers. Then instead of huffing on the stamp (which by the way will NOT work with Copics), I spritzed my paper with a mini-mister filled with Copic blending solution. The solution keeps the paper moist, which reactivates the alcohol of the markers. The result is beautiful!! I know I’ll be using this technique a lot!

I distressed the edges with my scissors and a sponge dabber using gray ink. I also used my new Fiskars threading water punch for the black strip along the right edge. The main flower was stamped again, cut out and popped up with a dimensional. The center is white opal Liquid Pearls. I also stamped my French Letter background and my sentiment with Adirondack Slate ink.

JACKSONBELLE EMBELLISHMENTS – JBE023

~~~
In A Jam crop
Each month the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Design Team gets to CASE one of their own members! And this month it’s ME!!!! At first I wasn’t going to make a card and CASE myself, but then there wouldn’t be 2 cards for the 2 For You Tuesday post, so I decided to go with an easy one and one of my more recent favorites. This is the card I’m CASEing~
Cocktails JBE
I had a lot of fun making it, and combining the whimsical image with the elegant paper and bling. I kept the exact layout and embellishments, and changed only the stamp set and papers. Here’s the CASE~
In A Jam
Don’t you love this cute little image by Inkadinkado? It’s called In A Jam and the second part of the sentiment which I’ll use on the inside of the card says “it’s nice to have a friend.” I colored the image with my Copic markers:
In A Jam copics
I wanted to point out that I kept the oval Nestabilities die in place after cutting out the image, and sponged some Adirondack Cool Peri ink around the inside edges with a sponge dabber. When the die is removed, there appears to be an added layer of dimension to the image.
Also, to achieve the look of a “rough” road beneath the tires, I colored a road in with a E43 Copic marker. When that was dry, I used the tip-to-tip technique, touching the E43 tip to an E49 marker and dotting the same road area. This was also done for the chicken scratch on the Cocktails card.
Tip to Tip
That’s it for today, folks! Please visit the other design team members blogs to see what they’ve CASE’d of mine! I can’t wait to see! (Did you leave a comment at the JBE blog to win some candy?) And PLEASE link back here if you decide to play along! I’d love to see your creations!!
Thanks so much for stopping for a visit! See you tomorrow for the Rubbernecker Blog challenge and a new Color Throwdown color challenge!
