Color Throwdown Challenge #11
It’s Wednesday! And time for another Color Throwdown color challenge! Would you look at this week’s gorgeous color combination? So yummy!
I couldn’t wait to try these colors out. At first I thought a masculine card would be just perfect. And it would, except I just didn’t know which stamp sets to use. The more I browsed, the more I thought maybe elegant would be the way to go. So this is what I came up with:
Baroque background was stamped in Adirondack Espresso onto the old olive layer. The sentiment is also stamped in Espresso. The flower/leaves silhouettes are stamped in Lettuce and Aqua.
I used my Spellbinders oval Nestabilities for the sentiment layers. The overall card size is 5 x 5.

What’s this, you say? A second card on Wednesday???
Well, sure! That’s because there’s a NEW RUBBERNECKER WEEKLY CHALLENGE. Check it out on the Rubbernecker blog.
This week’s challenge is to use Spellbinders Nestabilities! Easy, peasy! I have a bunch of them and use them on practically everything anyway!! Uh, did you notice I used them on the Color Throwdown card as well!? I couldn’t help myself! There’s no easier way to cut a layer for an image or sentiment!
Or how about for the card itself? I used the largest scalloped square Nestabilities die to cut the polka dotted layer and also a white layer for the back of the card. I used Jen d’s method of attaching the back (scoring 1/2″ down from the top on the back, then gluing only that part to the front) so that my entire outer edge remains scalloped.
The image was colored with Copic markers and the cherries were covered with Star Dust stickles. I cut a slit along each side of the cupcake with a craft knife for the ribbon to slip through.
