Sherry has BLOG CANDY today, so be sure to leave check out her blog for your chance to win.

And speaking of Sherry, I believe I was channeling her when I created this tag:

Fall Tag

I wanted to try distressing a tag and had watched a video on the Hero Arts blog, but then I deviated a little from the instructions. I crumpled the tag then straightened it back out. I rubbed over it with several different Ranger Distress ink pads and spritzed it with water, then ironed it between 2 sheets of copy paper. It seemed to fade the color more than I wanted, so I used my ink blending tool and my tea dye and old paper pads to blend more color all over the tag. Then I stamped my mesh background in brushed corduroy randomly. I also distressed the edges of the tag with my Tim Holtz scissors and inked them with the brushed corduroy. Sherry would’ve been proud of my completely inky fingers!!

The letters and vine are both Idea-ology grungeboard mini pieces that were coated with Colorbox chalk inks then embossed with clear EP several times to get the high gloss effect.

I stamped the pumpkin in Memento Rich Cocoa on shimmery vanilla cardstock then painted it with a waterbrush and Distress reinkers. I glued the cardstock to a piece of cardboard (cereal box weight) then cut it out to give it a little more substance.

It’s hard to see, but I stamped a Wheat Border in both creamy brown and olive pastel Colorbox chalk inks along the left length of the tag. The hardware tab tied with ribbons and the brads (another “Sherry” thing) finish off the tag.

That’s it! Please stop by to see the other Rubbernecker designers creations today:

Here is this week’s sketch ~

JBE018 sketch

And here is my pumpkin card ~

Autumn Foliage

This wonderful Inkadinkado pumpkin was watercolored with SU inks on watercolor paper, then the pumpkin and flowers were painted with Shimmerz in Golden Wheat. The patterned paper is from the new Basic Grey Offbeat 6×6 pad and the hardware is We R Memory Keepers. I used an Ornare template for the piercing.

It’s a simple card, but I really love this sketch and these colors together. Please be sure to visit the other designers’ blogs for their beautiful creations:

Thanks for visiting me today. Tomorrow I’m the hostess at the Color Throwdown blog and I got to pick the colors this week! I can’t wait to see if you like them together!
