“2 for You” Tuesdays

2 for you new

It looks like for a while I will have 2 cards to post for you each Tuesday – one for the Rubbernecker Challenge (in conjunction with the Tuesday Treasure Hunt) and one for the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Design Team Challenge.

I hope you won’t mind the extra long posts. Here goes ~

It’s Treasure Hunt Tuesday at Rubbernecker Stamp Co. y’all! Head over to the home page to find your first clue in the hunt for free rubbah!!! Then be sure to stop by Jeanne and Linda‘s blogs for a chance to win some Rubbernecker Bucks blog candy!

There are so many new and exciting things going on with the Rubbernecker Design Team! First of all, today we welcome 2 new designers to the team and I am so uber-excited to tell you who they are!! Leigh O’Brien and Tami Mayberry! Can you believe it ??? These ladies are so awesome! I can’t wait to see what they’ve done with the Rubbernecker images!

Speaking of images….there are several new images getting ready to debut tomorrowJune 4 – on the Rubbernecker website and you’re going to be getting a preview today from all the senior design team members. You’re going to be as thrilled as I was when you see these images. They’re spectacular! AND they’re designed by one of our own amazingly talented DT members!!! Wow!!! (Can you tell I’m a little excited about this??) Any guesses as to who it is??

Here’s the first card I created with one of the flower silhouette stamps for our sketch challenge today – RBC12. You can find the sketch and all the details of the challenge on Jeanne’s blog – Inky Paws. Please play along with us and link your card to Jeanne’s post today to be entered into the monthly contest to win Rubbernecker Bucks.
There is Beauty

I really love that this stamp has a combination of flowers instead of just one and the fact that it is tall enough to really be a focal point on a card!

I embossed my flower image using Versamark and Ranger Distress Milled Lavender EP. This has a grainy texture even after embossing and if you rub your finger over the image a little, you can get a more distressed look. Next I shaded the image with my W1 and W3 Copic markers, then sponged behind the image and around the edges with a sponge and Ranger Distress Old Paper ink. I added the gem brad in the center of the main flower and matted the layer onto a perfect plum cardstock layer that was cut and embossed with a long scalloped rectangle Nestabilities die.

The sentiment layer was also embossed and sponged. The lighter colored strip behind the lace is actually a shimmery vanilla piece of cardstock that I sponged with the Old Paper Distress ink.

Be sure to stop by the other design team members’ blogs to see their previews of tomorrow’s stamp release:

And check out the RBC12 designs of the new guest designers too:

JACKSONBELLE EMBELLISHMENTS

Hello Birds Galore crop

I have been waiting a long time to get the Inkadinkado Birds Galore clear stamp set. I’ve loved it from afar!! Well, let me tell you I am NOT disappointed. I LOVE this set! There are elegant birds and whimsical birds, large birds and small birds, just overall fun birds!!

This card is for the Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday challenge JBE005. Kisa came up with this challenge and we’re supposed to use green, orange, and brown (or black). At first I thought “Yuck!” It’s not fall!! LOL! But once I dug into my papers and these gorgeous Prima flowers, my mind was eased! I love how this card turned out!

Hello Birds Galore

I used 2 different Basic Grey 6×6 pads – Cupcake and Sugared. They coordinated beautifully to give me the shades of the 3 colors I needed. The bird was stamped in Adirondack Espresso on a scrap of the orange paper, pressed into my Versamark pad and embossed with clear EP. I cut it out and attached it with mounting tape over another stamped bird. The swirls and the “hello” – from the Chelsea Sentiments stamp set – were also stamped in Espresso and clear embossed. The “hello” was punched with the small SU oval punch and also attached with mounting tape.

Now how about those flowers??? Aren’t they beautiful??? The green and orange solid ones are included in the Prima Urban Cosmos paper collection and the other artsy ones are from the Prima Artful Collage Flowers.

Please be sure to check out the other design team members cards and please feel free to play along by posting your card at Splitcoaststampers and use the keyword JBE005.

Whew! Now that’s a long post! If you’ve stuck with me this long, I certainly do appreciate it!

Thanks for stopping by to visit today. I hope you have a wonderful day!
