FS64 – Old Bird Birthday
I made this card for the Featured Stamper challenge FS64 on Splitcoaststampers today. Yay, sf9erfan! What a great gallery Michelle has! I chose this card to case: Simple Birthday
Michelle’s card is simple and beautiful and I loved her layout using just one large piece of patterned paper. I kept this layout and also used a bird theme and twill with an accent of flowers. I changed the stamp set, color theme, and patterned paper. Here is my card:
The owl was stamped on shimmery vanilla cardstock with Palette Hybrid Burnt Umber ink and colored with Copic markers.
I didn’t have any flowers that matched my patterned paper or color scheme, so I pressed the large flower into the Spring Moss ink pad and I stamped the small flower using a flower center from the Stampin’ Up! Pick a Petal set and Papertrey Aqua Mist and Spring Moss ink.
I thought the vanilla was a little stark against the pattern of the paper, so I patted the panel and the twill with an old washcloth which was touched lightly to the Spring Moss ink pad.
Side note: Someone made a comment the last time I used this sentiment, that they hoped the recipient of the card had a sense of humor. Well, I have to say that this card was made for a dear friend’s birthday. And she, as well as ALL of my friends, have a wonderful sense of humor! She’ll get a good chuckle out of this card!
