Come On Baby…..
Light My Fire! It’s a song, folks! Ok, so it’s an old one, but still a song! I skipped supper tonight to make a quick card for today’s Ways to Use It Challenge WT155. These Cat’s Pajamas stamps are so cute! The set is called “Having a Pow Wow!” and not only are the stamps kid-appropriate, they are really cool for making cards like this:
I stamped the image on a strip of shimmer vanilla cardstock, colored it with Copic markers, and highlighted it with gelly roll glaze pens. I cut the long edges with zig zag scissors and sponged the edges with Ranger Distress tea dye ink and my ink blending tool. I stitched the strip to 2 pieces of Basic Grey Mellow paper from a 6×6 pad.
Then I stamped the fire, after stamping off once, on another piece of shimmery vanilla. I colored it lightly with Copics, then stamped the sentiment partially over the fire with Palette Hybrid Burnt Umber ink. I punched it with my SU scallop circle punch and then punched it again to get the pointed scallops. I think I saw this on Mary Jo Albright’s blog. Yes, I just looked and there it is! The edges on this were sponged too.
I cut a slightly larger circle with my Coluzzle and attached it at the bottom of the card front. Then I tied that beautiful Mays Art ribbon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments around the card front, knotting it right above the sentiment circle. Then I mounted it on a shimmery vanilla card base.
Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!
By the way, I didn’t really SKIP dinner. I had popcorn while I watched the American Idol results show!
