Who Wants Candy?

No, not Candy Williams!  Snort!  How about some blog candy???  Want some??  Well, let’s do it!

Dave at Rubbernecker is letting a few members of his design team give away $10 Rubbernecker bucks (good for Rubbernecker and Stamp Oasis stamps)!!!  Woo hoo!  Dave you are the best!

Today I’m in a tropical, beachy kind of mood.  There has just been way too much cold weather lately for me.  So leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite beach is.  Mine?  Well, in the continental US that would be Edisto Island, SC.  If we’re talking really tropical, I just love Paradise Island, Bahamas.

Wednesday evening, I’ll use the random generator to choose the winner.  You can also check out some of the other designers’ blogs for candy.  Good luck, everyone!

Look for Blog Candy giveaways on these Rubbernecker Design Teams Blogs too!!!

And now, a card…..

This card was created using both the Sketch Challenge SC159 and the Ways to Use It Challenge WT149 on SCS last week.  I know.  I’m always late on the challenges.  That’s what happens when you have to work to support your stamping and eating habits!!

This realistic looking pineapple was stamped on shimmery vanilla cardstock in Ranger Distress walnut stain ink and embossed with clear EP.  I love the way the stamp itself provides all the shading needed, so there is very little required when you color it.  I sponged around the edges with frayed burlap ink and my new Ranger ink blending tool.  It’s so cool and provides such great coverage!  I used my Copic marker E31 for the shading around the pineapple.

I can’t remember where I got the rawhide that is threaded through the jumbo eyelet, but it just seemed like the right element to use instead of ribbon.

All the stamps, inks and the ink blending tool are from Rubbernecker.

Broni….love your pineapple! It’s veerrrry tropical (and since it’s snowing here this morning — and my furnace quit yesterday, I am sooooo needing some warmth). Now for the beaches…..Myrtle Beach SC is the family fave – we take the kids every year and they just love it! But indeed Paradise Island is the best! Haven’t been since ’98 though — but now you’ve got me thinking I NEED a vacation!

Thanks for sharing all of your lovely work and for making me feel warm this morning (at least in my head!)

    Kristine

Beaches? Not many here in cold Wisconsin. Only tiny dirty lake ones. I haven’t been to anyother ones. So my answer would have to be the beach at Lake Altoona in Altoona Wisconsin. Thanks for the chance, Kathy…

  3. 3Stella says:

My favorite beach…….Hmmm….this one should be easy, considering that I’ve only ever really been to one REAL beach in my lifetime….Cocoa Beach. I would LOVE to go to Hawaii someday though, to see if I could find ANOTHER favorite beach!

By the way, love your stamping! I’m new to stamping and cardmaking and I’m enjoying discovering new inspiration with blogs like yours!

  4. 4Michelle Adams says:

Can you believe I have NEVER seen the ocean!?! So I don’t have a favorite beach.

;-( I have been to Lake Michigan and was on the “beach” at the dunes in Indiana, so I guess that will have to be my answer. Oh well…maybe someday! LOL!

Thanks so much for the chance to win!

By far, St. Lucia! 🙂 ummmm just thinking about it makes me want to go!

  6. I wish I could get to my favorite beach — it is from when I was a kid. My father worked for a company that had a property on a Lake — the Foster Grant Beach in Leominster, MA — I so miss it! Lotsa great memories there… wish I could take my kids there, too (and my DH)

  7. 7Kelly Lunceford (atomicbutterfly) says:

This is fantastic! I am so glad to see you are blogging, too! GReat Blog and I will be back often to see your lovely creations!

  8. 8nancyruth says:

Well Miss Broni, I love your pineapple. I have not been to Hawaaii but would love to get there one day. As far as favorite beaches… I would say Miami Beach. I love the Florida sun, I LOVE body surfing, and there is nowhere I am happier than at the beach. too bad I don’t travel more, but I am looking forward to a beach vacation with my sister… So happy stamping to you and happy beaching and I am off to buy some stamps!!!

  9. 9Catherine says:

My favorite beach would have to be Sandhills Beach in Nova Scotia, I grew near this beach in the summers…and I have lots of great memories there :)! But would love to goto those exotic beaches like Hawaii etc :)!

My favorite beach is in Kodiak, AK. We don’t get to go to the beach very often because it’s not that warm, but all the beaches on the island are beautiful and you get to see wildlife on the beaches here too (sometimes a bear will come across the sand!!)

  11. 11Angie says:

Hi Broni! I’m not much of a beach person (the sand kinda bugs me) but I do enjoy taking my kids to a beach that is just about 15 minutes away from home. It’s called Ko Olina and it is a bunch of little man-made lagoons at the Ko Olina Resort in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. But in just about 11 months we’ll be moving to Italy, and I can’t wait to see the beach there. It will be the beach on the Adriatic Sea! I’m so Excited!

  12. 12Hilma says:

My favorite beach, on the pacific it would be Ocean Shores in washington because I can’t remember the one in Cali… LOL it has been too long!
On the atlantic, the only beach we ever went to was one at Atlantic City when we went there for a day vacation.

  13. 13Melissa says:

My favorite beach is Hamptom Beach in Maine. They have a sand art competition every spring that is just amazing!

  14. 14Beth M says:

So many to pick from. . . I was going to say my favorite beach was Ocean Shores WA and then I read the replies and noticed Hilma said that beach too. I was there once on a trip with a friends family and we rode horses on the beach! What a great memory.

In my opinion any beach is great if the weather is nice! Thanks for the chance to win!

  15. 15Kate says:

I love the pineapple card it is really beautiful. My favorite beach is Myrtle Beach South Carolina, I spend a week there every September. Thanks for the great inspiration.

  16. Jessie/Knightrone says:

My favorite beach, far and away is Okuma Beach on Okinawa, Japan. I spent 5yrs living on that island with my family. My dad was in the Army. It is a resort on the island, sort of. But I just remember having the best time ever there. Thanks for the chance to win!!

  17. Meredith C says:

My favorite beach is Atlantic Beach in NC. That’s where my husband and I went on our honeymoon. It’s so beautiful and peaceful.

  18. wendyP says:

Right now any beach sounds wonderful, but some of my favorite beaches to visit as a child was Emerald Isle in NC. I remember walking the beach with my grandmother and finding gorgeous shells.

  19. Bev says:

Great coloring on your pineapple-makes a neat card. tfs

I live in the Midwest and have been two beaches in my 68 years-DH and I went to Maui several years ago and my sis and I took my mother to see the ocean-Myrtle Beach. Enjoyed both trips.

  20. 20Kerry from PA says:

I have two beaches that are very close, both in Hawaii. The first is Waikiki. I got my first glimpse by moonlight. Our plane was very very late in arriving and I couldn’t wait for morning to stick my feet in the Pacific ocean for the first time.

The second is on Maui, mile marker 15(? or was it 10) on the road to Lahina. It’s a favorite more for the snorkeling just offshore than for the beach itself as it’s more of a pull off than a beach. But there was some great coral and very minimal wave action at that location(which was great for a very novice snorkeler like myself).

  21. Mary Puskar says:

I love Elbow Beach in Bermuda. Went there on our honeymoon forty years+ ago and would love to go back some day! Would also love to win those bucks toward stamps. That pineapple is gorgeous!!

  22. Aimee says:

I’ll have to say my favorite beach is Va Beach it is only 30 mins from me…

  23. Peggy Maier says:

I have fond memories of going to different Padre Island beaches every Sunday afternoon as a kid. I know it’s changed a lot, but I’d love to visit again. The water was SO warm & all those gorgeous little shells … can you tell I’m longing for warmer places?!

  24. Susan Wood says:

My fav all time beach is Newport Beach, California…

  25. My favorite beaches are those around Lake Superior. They can be sandy or rocky. It just depends on where you’re at. The water is very clear and cold!

  26. AnnMarie says:

Hiya Broni! Great pineapple card! Feels feel tropical! : ) My favorite all time beach is TopSail, NC!! LOVE it! Great blog! TFS

  27. No beaches (real ones) in Nebraska! haha
I would have to say that my favorites are in North Carolina – Cape Lookout National Seashore. You have to ride a ferry out to the island and there are wild horses out there that have ancestors in Spain! It is so beautiful, the water is warm and the shells are awesome.

And the real reason? My son goes to college in NC and it’s close it him!

  28. pegg says:

The card is gorgeous! I love seeing this company’s images.
My favorite beach is in Cancun — soft sand, clear blue waters — just what you imagine it should be like! Cancun is a little cheesy — hope to go to Playa del Carmen, which is supposedly very nice and only 45 min south of Cancun.

  29. Linda C. says:

Fantastic card! It’s making me hungry…. My favorite beach would be in Cancun. Thanks for the chance to win blog candy!

  30. 30hiinaz says:

I’m always in a beach mood!! Unfortunately, this Hawaii girl is stuck in the Midwest 🙁
I love so many beaches in Hawaii. Right now, after shoveling snow off the driveway, I’d settle for anywarm beach in the world. My favorite beach would probably be Kailua Beach on Oahu. It’s always so beautiful and serene there!

  31. Kelly W says:

Wow, that was nice. Thanks for sharing. My favorite beach is Waikiki Beach. I love to people watch and that’s the place to do it!

I love the beach, any beach. My favorite local beach is Hamden Beach, NH. They have an awesome boardwalk. Water is frigid most of the summer. But it is such a fun place. You can’t have a bad time.

  33. cwilliams says:

Wow what a beautiful card Broni!!

  34. Nettystamps says:

Favorite beach? At this point in the year it would be any beach that has warm enough weather to walk barefoot at the water’s edge….LOL I live on the coast of North Carolina so I guess I should be loyal and say the east coast beaches… Thanks for the chance…. 🙂

  35. 35Linda Peterson says:

My favorite beach was in Cancun–Sun Palace’s beach. It has been a few years and a few hurricanes since we have been there so it might be really ugly now.
I live in Michigan so the thought of a beach sure seems nice.

  36. Darlene L says:

My all time favorite beach is Coranado Beach in San Diego–I have only been there once but it was awesome. I also like the white sand beaches along the Gulf Coast of Florida. Darlene

  37. Linda SS says:

This one is tough as I love ALL beaches. The snorkeling is fantastic in Hawaii. I lived in San Diego for a couple years and there are some beautiful ones there. The Oregon coast is one of my favorite places to vacation. I loved the east coast too, and they have the best lobster:) But since you asked, I will say that of all the beaches I’ve seen, I was really impressed with Carmel, CA beach and the soft sand there.

  38. NancyS (momsnack) says:

My favorite beach – just six blocks from my front door, on the Central Oregon coast!! Aren’t I lucky!
    NancyS (momsnack)

  39. I agree that Paradise Island is a wonderful place! I love tropical vacations. My favorite right now is in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The amount of palm trees they have is amazing! Thanks!

  40. 40julie says:

    any beach on Padre Island

  41. Christina Vertefeuille says:

    Hi,
I love myrtle beach in SC. My parents have a house there so it’s a free place to stay.

    Thanks,
    Christina Vertefeuille

  42. Karen Pounds says:

I think my favorite beach may be coming up in October when DH takes me to Hawaii for our Anniversary! I’ll get back to you on that – but seriously – any beach is a wonderful beach if I get to be there instead of here!

  43. Angel W. says:

I’ve been to a few beaches and even lived by one (Buckroe Beaches). I don’t remember all of the names of them, but Hawaii beaches rock! Thanks for offering candy AND helping me think of warm sandy beaches on a cold day!

  44. bluemoon says:

I love the ocean and the beaches! Ocean air is just so healthy. I have only been to Florida, but any uncrowded, quiet beach where I can sink my toes into the sand and walk the beach, hunting for shells and watching & hearing the ocean waves come up to meet my feet…ahhhh, breathing the salty fresh air is just fine with me!! Heck I could pitch a tent on the beach and live like a beach bum!! Thanks for the chance… dreaming of shells on the beach…:)

  45. 45Pat says:

My favorite would have to be Sanibel Island in Florida. I would love to be on that beach right now…warm, sunny and relaxing. Thanks for sharing!

    Pat

  46. Alison says:

Your card reminds me of my fave beach — Kaanapali Beach on Maui. Absolutely stunning!

  47. Becky Elfert says:

My favorite beach would be North Pardre Island – that’s home for me (Corpus Christi, TX). Dogs are allowed on the beach. I was in shock when I was kicked off the beach in Jacksonville, FL for having my dog with me. Never knew that dogs wouldn’t be allowed. Fortunately, I get to see many different beaches because my husband is in the Navy.

My second favorite beach would be Cefalu, Sicily.

  48. So nice to see you Blogging — where have I been?????? I’d best read those threads over in the DDA forum — LOL!!! Living on the shores of Lake Superior, I’d have to say that is my favorite — it can be very nice in the summer, but certainly not like some warmer areas of the US or tropics — but the deep, blue, ice cold water is very beckoning and, in it’s own way, calming. Some day I hope to relax on the sandy shores of some WARM beach, sipping ice tea and reading a magazine — LOL — a girl can dream!!! I’m going to link you to my blog right now — OK?

  49. Joanne says:

My favorite beach? That’s a tough one…i live in Vancouver, BC, so there are lots of beaches here and we go to them alot….Love the local lake (Bunzen), but I think my favorite beach ever is one we went to in Belize…it was stunning and amazing snorkeling and diving!

  50. 50Danielle says:

I was never a beach person…hate sand sticking to me! But, I really loved the beach in Fort Lauderdale…I stayed at a resort where our section of beach was private and I had everything I needed to be comfortable…which made me forget about the sand sticking to me…lol!

  51. Pat S. says:

    Hi Broni!
Love your pineapple card…beautiful coloring 🙂

My favorite beach is Treasure Island, FL.
It is between Tampa and St. Pete.
    Wide and quiet.

  52. Amie says:

You know what, I’m not much of a beachy person–the ocean kinda gives me the creeps in fact. But I do like the Oregon coast, cuz it’s so dang beautiful, rocky, lots of trees, just not your typical beach. Thanks for the chance!

  53. Heidi says:

I would have to say my favorite beach is those of the caribbean, the beaches of Cancun or Maiyan Riviera. So clean and clear- just warms you thinking of them.

  54. Julie S. says:

Favorite beach huh….well I’d have to say the Bahamas! They are just so gorgeous! Going on a cruise in October, can’t wait to head Jamaica – I’m sure its gorgeous there as well.

  55. Elaine says:

I honestly don’t know that many beaches! The one at Kona Village Resort in Hawaii, and the one in Santa Barbara, CA where I used to live are my favorites. OH, ok wait….Cannon Beach in OR and Ocean Shores are also faves!! I guess I do know a couple domestic beaches! LOL Thanks for the chance at the blog candy!

  56. Sue McG says:

My favorite beach is Margaret River, Western Australia – the beach is beautiful, the surf is amazing, the surrounding area is full of vineyards and art studios – it’s heaven 🙂

  57. Joan B says:

This is gorgeous. LOVE what you did with this pineapple!!!!
