A Sketch Challenge Kick Stand card

Published by at 7:11 pm under Card Designs,Challenges,Rubbernecker,Watercolor

I had not tried a “kick stand” card before, so when I saw that it was the sketch challenge this week I decided it was time.  This is a fairly new layout developed by Kirsten (KED on SCS).

I stamped this Hearty Vase image from the Stamp Oasis – Heart section of Rubbernecker on watercolor paper and used my waterbrush and Adirondack inks to color it.  Then I used my scalloped rectangle Nestabilities die to cut and emboss the image panel.  I attached it with mounting tape to the patterned paper from Basic Grey’s Perhaps 6×6 pad, then to a piece of very vanilla cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped on a strip of always artichoke, sponged with Pesto ink and attached to the top of the card front.  I also sponged all the edges of the card base.  I attached the image panel at the bottom of the card to act as the “kick stand”.  A ribbon was tied around the card front and I applied a rhinestone heart to the sentiment panel and a smaller rhinestone to the center of the large flower in the vase.

Thanks for visiting!  Please come back soon!
